You stop worrying every time it rains. You’re not climbing into the attic with a flashlight looking for new stains. You’re not calling your insurance company again or wondering if that patch job from last year is going to hold through another nor’easter.
A roof that works means you can focus on everything else. Your home stays dry, your energy bills don’t spike because heat’s escaping through gaps, and you’re not dealing with mold or structural damage that costs ten times more to fix later.
That’s what happens when the work is done right from the start. No shortcuts. No “we’ll come back and finish that next week” promises that never happen. Just a roof that does its job so you can stop thinking about it.
We’ve spent over 20 years working on roofs across Suffolk County. We’re not storm chasers who show up after a hurricane and disappear with your deposit. We live here. Our trucks are in Commack, Huntington, Smithtown – the same neighborhoods where our customers live.
We know what Long Island weather does to roofs. Salt air eats through flashing. Freeze-thaw cycles crack shingles. Heavy snow loads stress rafters. We’ve seen it all, fixed it all, and we know exactly what holds up here and what doesn’t.
When you call, you get someone who answers. When we schedule, we show up. When we give you a price, that’s the price. It’s not complicated – it’s just how business should work.
First, we come out and actually look at your roof. Not a five-minute glance from the driveway – a real inspection. We check flashing, valleys, penetrations, underlayment if we need to. We take photos. If there’s damage you can’t see from the ground, we’ll show you exactly what we’re talking about.
Then we give you a written estimate that breaks down materials, labor, timeline, and warranty. No vague “we’ll figure it out as we go” pricing. You know what you’re paying for before we start.
Once you’re ready, we schedule the work and stick to it. We protect your property, tear off the old roof if needed, install new underlayment and shingles, replace any damaged decking, and handle all the details most homeowners never think about – drip edge, ventilation, ice and water shield in valleys.
When we’re done, we walk the property with you. We clean up completely – no nails in your driveway, no debris in your yard. And if something comes up later, we’re still here. You have our number, and we’ll actually answer it.
Ready to get started?
We handle everything your roof needs. Emergency repairs when a storm tears off shingles or a tree punches through. Full replacements when your roof is past the point of patching. Insurance claims when you’re dealing with storm damage and need someone who knows how to document everything properly so your claim doesn’t get lowballed.
In Commack and across Suffolk County, roofs take a beating. You’re dealing with coastal storms, heavy snow, temperature swings that make materials expand and contract until seals fail. We use materials that hold up here – GAF, Owens Corning, products with actual track records in this climate.
We also handle the things that cause roof problems in the first place. Gutters that overflow and rot your fascia. Chimneys with failed flashing. Skylights that leak. Siding that lets water behind your walls. Decks with structural issues. If it’s on the outside of your house and it’s causing problems, we fix it.
Most roofing companies in the area do one thing. We do all of it, which means you’re not coordinating three different contractors and hoping they don’t blame each other when something goes wrong.
Most homeowners in Commack pay between $8,000 and $15,000 for a complete roof replacement with asphalt shingles. That’s for an average-sized home – around 1,500 to 2,000 square feet of roof area.
The range depends on what we’re working with. If your decking is rotted and needs replacement, that adds cost. If you want architectural shingles instead of basic three-tab, that’s more material cost but also a longer-lasting roof. If your roof has multiple valleys, dormers, or a steep pitch that makes the work slower and more dangerous, labor goes up.
We don’t give ballpark numbers over the phone because every roof is different. But we will come out, measure everything, and give you an exact written price before you commit to anything. No surprises, no “we found more damage so now it’s $5,000 more” conversations halfway through the job.
Most asphalt shingle roofs on Long Island last 15 to 20 years, even though manufacturers advertise 25 or 30-year lifespans. Long Island doesn’t offer ideal roofing conditions. You’ve got salt air, nor’easters, freeze-thaw cycles, and UV exposure that breaks down materials faster than they would in, say, the Midwest.
If your roof is older than 15 years and you’re starting to see granule loss, curling shingles, or leaks, it’s time to at least get an inspection. Waiting too long means water damage to your decking and interior, which turns a roof replacement into a much more expensive structural repair.
Metal roofs and certain premium materials last longer – 30 to 50 years in some cases – but they cost more upfront. We’ll walk you through the actual lifespan you can expect based on what’s on your house now and what you’re considering for a replacement.
It depends on what caused the damage. If a storm tore off shingles or a tree fell on your roof, insurance usually covers it. If your roof is just old and worn out, they won’t. Insurance covers sudden, unexpected damage – not regular wear and tear or deferred maintenance.
Here’s where it gets tricky: insurance companies will send their own adjuster, and they’re looking for reasons to pay less. They might say the damage isn’t as bad as you think, or they’ll try to cover a patch instead of a full replacement even when the roof is clearly shot.
We’ve worked with dozens of insurance claims in Suffolk County. We document everything, take detailed photos, and provide estimates that show exactly what needs to be done to bring your roof up to code. If the adjuster lowballs the claim, we can walk you through the appeals process. You’re responsible for showing them all the damage – they’re not going to go looking for it – so having someone who knows what to document makes a big difference in what you actually get paid.
First, contain the water inside your house. Put a bucket under the leak, move furniture and electronics out of the way, and soak up standing water with towels. If water is pooling in your ceiling and the drywall is sagging, poke a small hole in the lowest point so it drains into a bucket instead of collapsing and dumping everywhere.
Then call us. We offer emergency roof repair in Commack and across Long Island, and we can usually get someone out the same day or next day depending on the situation. We’ll tarp the area if needed, find the source of the leak, and do a temporary fix to stop more water from getting in.
Don’t wait on this. A small leak turns into rotted decking, mold in your insulation, and damaged ceilings and walls. The longer water sits, the more expensive the fix becomes. And if you’re planning to file an insurance claim, you’re required to mitigate further damage – which means getting it tarped or temporarily repaired as soon as possible.
If the damage is isolated to one area – a few missing shingles after a storm, a small leak around a chimney or skylight – a repair usually makes sense. If your roof is relatively new and the rest of it is in good shape, there’s no reason to replace the whole thing.
But if your roof is over 15 years old, or if you’re seeing widespread issues – curling shingles across multiple sections, granules washing into your gutters, multiple leaks, daylight visible through your attic – a replacement is the smarter move. You’ll spend money patching problems over and over, and you’ll still end up replacing it in a year or two anyway.
We’ll tell you honestly what makes sense. If a repair buys you a few more years and you’re not ready to replace the whole roof yet, we’ll say that. If we’re just putting a band-aid on something that’s going to fail again soon, we’ll tell you that too. We’re not here to sell you a new roof if you don’t need one, but we’re also not going to take your money for a repair that won’t hold.
Because there’s no accountability. Roofing has a low barrier to entry – anyone with a truck and some tools can call themselves a contractor. A lot of them are unlicensed, uninsured, or running side jobs without the infrastructure to actually manage projects. They overbook, take deposits they’re not equipped to earn, and disappear when the work gets complicated.
Storm chasers are even worse. They show up after a hurricane, knock on every door, collect deposits, and leave town. Some of them are outright scams – homeowners on Long Island have lost $60,000 or more to fake contractors who never did any work at all.
That’s why you check licensing, insurance, and references before you hire anyone. We’re a local roofing company that’s been in Suffolk County for over 20 years. Our reputation is everything. If we don’t show up or don’t finish the job, everyone in Commack and the surrounding towns will know about it. We can’t afford to operate that way, and we don’t want to. When we schedule something, we’re there. When we start a job, we finish it. It’s that simple.
